Bio
Matthew Charles Sanders (born July 31, 1981) is the lead singer of the band Avenged Sevenfold (on the Warner Brothers record label). He is best known by his stage name, M. Shadows.
Shadows grew up in Huntington Beach, California in Orange County. He was formerly a member of a punk band called Successful Failure, during which time he penned the song Streets, later recorded by Avenged Sevenfold. Some of his influences include NOFX, Rancid, Bad Religion, Guns N' Roses, Pantera and Metallica. Matt went to a catholic school with Jimmy Sullivan (later The Rev), A7X's drummer.
